This version was developed at the request of foreign customers. The cockpit was reduced in size so that the cabin could be extended by 1m and there was room for 180 passengers.
The aircraft was also aerodynamically modified. The B-1 differs only from the B-2 in cockpit equipment. In 1991 a total of 612 Tu-154s had been delivered to the Aeroflot, they carried almost 70 million passengers in 1990 and were in use for an average of about 1850 hours per year.
The Tu-154S was a cargo version, equipped with cargo door, that could carry 20 tons over 2500km. Only 19 aircraft were converted to Tu-154S. Of the Tu-154 to Tu-154B, 606 aircraft were built, in June 1996 they had 12,588,361 flight hours on the clock (20773 flight hours average per aircraft). Together with the Tu-154M, they had transported about 900 million passengers on that month.
